Fukushima antinuclear meet slated
Kyodo
The Japan Congress Against A- and H-Bombs will hold a conference July 28 in Fukushima Prefecture, home to the crippled No. 1 nuclear plant.
It will be the second straight year that Japan's largest antinuclear group has held its annual conference in Fukushima. The meeting will be followed by annual August conferences in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The core theme of the conferences will be ways to promote the denuclearization of society, based on the assumption that the Fukushima nuclear crisis will affect the global community to the same extent as the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
